Anne Veski
Anne Veski (born Anne Vaarmann; 27 February 1956) is an Estonian pop singer who has recorded music in both her native language as well as Russian. Biography Anne Veski was born as Anne Vaarmann in Rapla, Estonia. She graduated from the musical school in the town, after which she entered the Tallinn University of Technology. Upon finishing her education, she became a professional singer and started working as a soloist with the ensembles Mobile and Vitamiin. Her first notable Estonian language hit song was "''Roosiaia kuninganna''" ("Queen of the Rose Garden") in 1980. Other prominent Estonian hits were "''Troopikaöö''" ("Tropical Night") in 1979, "''Viimane Vaatus''" ("Last Act"), in 1983 and "''Jääd või ei?"'' ("Will You Stay or Not?") in 1986. Having organized the ensemble Nemo, Veski began her solo career in 1984. In that same year, she participated in the Sopot International Song Festival in Poland. Rapla
Rapla (German: ''Rappel'') is a town in central Estonia, the capital of Rapla County and the centre of Rapla Parish. The oldest records date back to 1241 in the Danish Census Book, when it was said that it was a small village with 8 acres of cultivated fields. By the end of the 13th century, the village centre was firmly established. At around the same time, a Cistercian monastery was built. Rapla's ambitious period of fast growth began only in the late 19th century. In 1866, a pharmacy was built, in 1868 a school, and in 1888 a hospital. In 1898, a Brick factory was opened, and in 1900, a railway line was built between Rapla and Viljandi. The old stone church was demolished in the late 19th century and a new one was built in a Romanesque style, one of the purest examples of this style in all of Estonia. Marju Länik
Marju Länik (born 7 September 1957, Otepää) is an Estonian singer. Biography Länik began singing in the early 1970s in her hometown of Otepää. In 1975, he graduated from Otepää Secondary School and in the summer of the same year she became a soloist of the Estonian National Philharmonic. Greater recognition came at the end of the decade in participating at the Eesti Televisioon programme "Kaks Takti Ette" and being in the music film "Suveviisid Võrtsjärvel". At the same time, she was a soloist in the Tallinn Philharmonic Orchestra's version of Vana Toomas, singing with sisters Ele Kõlar and Kaja Kõlar. Concerts were given in Moscow, Kiev, Leningrad, Riga and elsewhere. From 1977 to 1979, she sang in Otepää in the ensemble Nustago and the trio Sarm.
