Anne Montminy
Anne Katherine Montminy (born January 28, 1975) is a Canadian former competitive diver and lawyer. Diving career Montminy had a number of highpoints in her diving career; she won a gold medal on the 10m platform at 1994 Commonwealth Games and the 1995 Pan American Games. She competed in the 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics (in Barcelona and Atlanta), but did not advance to the finals. Four years later in 2000 at age 25, she won silver ( 10 m platform synchro) and bronze ( 10 m platform) in Sydney, Australia. Montminy was inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 2005. During her diving career, she trained at Pointe-Claire Diving Club in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. 1998 Commonwealth Games
The 1998 Commonwealth Games ''(Malay: Sukan Komanwel 1998)'', officially known as the XVI Commonwealth Games ''(Malay: Sukan Komanwel ke-16)'', was a multi-sport event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This edition is marked by several unprecedented facts in the history of the event. The 1998 games were the first held in an Asian country and the last Commonwealth Games of the 20th century. This was also the first time the games took place in a nation with a head of state other than the Head of the Commonwealth, and the first time the games were held in a country whose majority of the population did not have English as the first language. Pointe-Claire
Pointe-Claire (, ) is a Quebec local municipality within the Urban agglomeration of Montreal on the Island of Montreal in Canada. It is entirely developed, and land use includes residential, light manufacturing, and retail. As of the 2021 census the population was 33,488. Toponymy The toponym refers to the peninsula, or point, where the windmill, convent, and the Saint-Joachim de Pointe-Claire Church are sited. The point extends into Lac Saint-Louis and has a clear view of its surroundings. Diving is the sport of jumping or falling into water from a platform or springboard, usually while performing acrobatics.
