Annandale, Pasadena, California
Annandale is a neighborhood in Pasadena, California. It is bordered by Colorado Boulevard to the north, San Rafael Avenue to the east, and the Pasadena-Los Angeles border to the south and west. The main roads through the neighborhood are Avenue 64 and La Loma Road. The original town of Annandale was to the area's west and was annexed by Los Angeles on February 24, 1924. Landmarks Most of the commercial development in the neighborhood is in a triangular area of only a few blocks where Colorado Boulevard and Avenue 64 meet. Annandale's only park, San Rafael Park, is also in this triangular area. Most of the neighborhood consists of upper-middle-class houses built in the 1920s and 1930s. The neighborhood's relative isolation from the rest of Pasadena gives it a very different character, including a canyon with a stream. Pasadena ( ) is a city in Los Angeles County, California, northeast of downtown Los Angeles. It is the most populous city and the primary cultural center of the San Gabriel Valley. Old Pasadena is the city's original commercial district. Its population was 138,699 at the 2020 census, making it the 44th largest city in California and the ninth-largest city in Los Angeles County. Colorado Boulevard (or Colorado Street in Glendale and Arcadia) is a major east–west street in Southern California. It runs from Griffith Park in Los Angeles east through Glendale, the Eagle Rock section of Los Angeles, Pasadena, and Arcadia, ending in Monrovia. The full route was once various state highways but is now locally maintained in favor of the parallel Ventura Freeway ( SR 134) and Foothill Freeway ( I-210). Route description West end The west end of Colorado Boulevard is composed of two segments: a disconnected surface street segment of Colorado Boulevard, and the Colorado Street Freeway Extension. Blair International Baccalaureate School
Blair High School is a public high school in Pasadena, California, a part of the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD). Blair is an International Baccalaureate World School serving grades 6–12. Blair offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme and the IB Diploma Programme. History In 2017, Blair also added the IB career-related Programme, as part of Blair's Health Careers Academy. The school underwent a major academic overhaul beginning in the fall of 2003 as a result of sub-standard academic performance, which prompted a state review. Oak Knoll is the southernmost neighborhood in Pasadena, California. It is bordered by Oak Knoll Circle to the north, Old Mill Road to the south, South Oak Knoll Avenue and South Oakland Avenue to the west, and the San Marino border (Kewen Drive and Encino Drive) to the east. The eponymous knoll is a 150 ft-high ridge formed by the Raymond Fault.
