Anna K. Williams (born 1980) is an American politician. She is a Democrat who represented the 52nd district in the Oregon House of Representatives. Biography Anna Williams was born in 1980 in Wyoming. She attended the University of Kansas, where she earned a BS in Psychology in 2002 and a master's degree in Social Welfare Administration in 2005. In 2009, she moved to Hood River, Oregon where she lives with her husband and two sons. She works remotely for Simmons University as an adjunct professor and academic advisor. Political career In 2018, Williams ran for the District 52 seat in the Oregon House of Representatives. She won the Democratic primary with 76.9% of the vote, and defeated Republican incumbent Jeff Helfrich in the general election with 51.4% of the vote. She was sworn in on January 14, 2019. Anna Williams by Frances Reynolds Anna Williams (1706 – 6 September 1783) was a Welsh poet. She was a close companion of the writer Samuel Johnson, who said he was "very desolate" when she died. Cataracts left Williams blind or visually impaired in the 1740s, when Johnson took her under his wing and helped to support her. She joined his household until her death, apart from an interval of six years. In return, Williams supervised Johnson's household management and expenses. Besides poetry, she wrote an unfinished dictionary of philosophical terms and translated and published a French biography of the emperor Julian. Dr. Anna Wessels Williams (1863–1954) was an American pathologist at the first municipal diagnostic laboratory in the United States. She used her medical training from the Women's Medical College of the New York Infirmary for research rather than medical practice, and over the course of her career worked on developing vaccines, treatments and diagnostic tests for many diseases, including diphtheria, rabies, scarlet fever, smallpox, influenza, and meningitis. Notably, a strain of diphtheria-causing bacteria that Williams isolated and cultivated was instrumental in producing an antitoxin to bring the disease under control. In 1932, she became the first woman to be elected chair of the laboratory section of the American Public Health Association. Dennis Lynn Rader (born March 9, 1945) is an American serial killer known as BTK (an abbreviation he gave himself, for "bind, torture, kill"), the BTK Strangler or the BTK Killer.
