WTA Rankings
The WTA rankings are the ratings defined by the Women's Tennis Association, introduced in November 1975. Iga Świątek is the current world No. 1. Ranking method The WTA rankings are based on a rolling 52-week, cumulative system. A player's ranking is determined by her results at a maximum of 16 tournaments for singles and 11 for doubles and points are awarded based on how far a player advances in a tournament. The basis for calculating a player's ranking are those tournaments that yield the highest ranking points during the rolling 52-week period with the condition that they must include points from the 4 Grand Slams, the 4 Premier Mandatory tournaments and the WTA Finals. In addition, for Top 20 players, their best two results at Premier 5 tournaments will also count. Sloane Stephens (born March 20, 1993) is an American professional tennis player. She achieved a career-best ranking of world No. 3 after Wimbledon in 2018. Stephens was the 2017 US Open champion, and has won seven WTA Tour singles titles in total. Born to athletic parents with backgrounds in collegiate swimming and professional American football, Stephens was introduced to tennis at the club across the street from her house in Fresno, California. Her stepfather was a competitive recreational tennis player and was her primary inspiration for beginning to play the sport. Anastasia Sergeyevna Potapova (born 30 March 2001) is a Russian tennis player. Potapova has a career-high ranking of No. 44 achieved on 17 October 2022 and a doubles ranking of No. 44 achieved on 3 October 2022. Potapova is a former junior No. 1, as well as the 2016 Wimbledon Championships girls' singles champion. Tereza Mihalíková (; born 2 June 1998) is a Slovak tennis player. She has a career-high singles ranking of 349 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), achieved June 2018, and a career-high WTA doubles ranking of 48, attained on 7 November 2022. While still playing mostly at tournaments of the ITF Women's Circuit in singles, she had her breakthrough in doubles, after winning her first WTA Tour title in 2021 and debuting in the top 100 rankings. She has won only one WTA doubles title and three WTA Challenger Tour doubles titles but eight singles and 19 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. Mihalíková was very successful as a junior.
