Anna Jagiellon Bridge, Warsaw
The Anna Jagiellon Bridge ( pl, Most Anny Jagiellonki) is a highway bridge, part of the S2 expressway, across the Vistula in Warsaw, Poland. The bridge links the Węzeł Warszawa Wschodnia junction, in Wilanów, with Węzeł Wał Miedzeszyński junction, in Wawer. It is the ninth bridge in Warsaw, and the longest and most southern river crossing across the Vistula in Warsaw. The construction of the bridge began in June 2017 and was set to be complete in the third quarter of 2020. This deadline was not met and the bridge opened for public use on 22 December 2020. Name Before the present name, the name of the bridge was the generic Southern Bridge ( pl, Most Południowy), named after the bridge's location in southern Warsaw. This name was used in numerous planning studies and documents, so over time it began to be commonly treated as the name after completion. Rafał Kazimierz Trzaskowski (; born 17 January 1972) is a Polish politician and the current List of city mayors of Warsaw, city mayor of Warsaw. He is also a political scientist specializing in European studies. He served as a Member of the European Parliament (2009–2013), Ministry of Administration and Digitization (Poland), Minister of Administration and Digitization (2013–2014) as well as the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland (2014–2015). Anna Jagiellon ( pl, Anna Jagiellonka, lt, Ona Jogailaitė; 18 October 1523 – 9 September 1596) was Queen of Poland and Grand Duchess of Lithuania from 1575 to 1587. Wawer is one of the districts of Warsaw, located in the south-eastern part of the city. The Vistula river runs along its western border. Wilanów
Wilanów () is a district of the city of Warsaw, Poland. It is home to historic Wilanów Palace, the "Polish Versailles," and second home to various Polish kings. History The first mentions of a settlement in the area can be traced to the 13th century, when a village named ''Milanów'' was founded by the Benedictine monastery of Płock. In 1338 it became a private property of the Dukes of Mazovia and in 1378 Prince Janusz I of Warsaw gave it to one of his servants.
