Anna Hirzel-Langenhan
Anna Hirzel-Langenhan (20 August 1874 – 15 December 1951) was a Swiss pianist and music educator. Life Born in Lachen, Hirzel-Langenhan studied at the Zurich University of the Arts and in Vienna with Theodor Leschetizky and Anna Jessipowa. From 1898 she worked in Munich, after she and her husband Richard Langenhan, who accepted a position as the second Kapellmeister of the Munich Philharmonic. (next to Felix Weingartner), had settled there. Both made their debut in the Kaimkonzert on 5 October 1898 with Piano Concerto No. 1 by Tchaikovsky. In addition to her work as a soloist, she frequently performed with members of the Kaimorchester in chamber music evenings and achieved a respected position in Munich's musical life. Lachen (High Alemannic: ''Lache'') is a municipality in March District in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland. History Lachen is first mentioned around 1217–22 as ''de Lachun''. Franzpeter Goebels
Franzpeter Goebels (5 March 1920 – 28 September 1988) was a German pianist, harpsichordist and music educator. Life and career Goebels was born in Mülheim an der Ruhr, the son of a church musician. He received piano lessons, and then studied piano and harpsichord at the Musikhochschule Köln with teachers including Karl Hermann Pillney. He also studied musicology, Romance studies and philosophy at the University of Cologne. He was a solo pianist with the Deutschlandsender broadcaster from 1940, and studied piano further with Raoul von Koczalski. He was drafted for military service in 1942, but due to an injury he was soon transferred to Prague where he led a symphony orchestra of the Wehrmacht. He finally became a prisoner of war. From 1947, Goebels taught piano at the Robert-Schumann-Konservatorium in Düsseldorf. Berg, Thurgau
Berg is a municipality in the district of Weinfelden in the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland. History The earliest traces of human settlement come from the Stone Age and there are scattered Bronze Age items around Berg. The modern village of Berg is first mentioned in 796 as ''Berga''. In the Early Middle Ages, Berg and the surrounding land were in the possession of the Bishop of Constance and were on the southern border of the Bishop's land. A fortress was first built in the 12th-13th Century, which was replaced in 1600 by a castle. André Casanova
André Marcel Charles Casanova (12 October 1919 – 7 March 2009) was a French composer. He was an early disciple of René Leibowitz, a teacher and composer who maintained a strict adherence to the Twelve-tone technique, dodecaphonic musical theories of Arnold Schoenberg. Casanova later abandoned most of them in favour of a more classical style of composition. His published works, composed between 1944 and 1993, include orchestral, chamber and choral music, operas and songs.
