Anna Gasser
Anna Gasser (born 16 August 1991) is an Austrian snowboarder, competing in slopestyle and big air. She lives in Millstatt. She is the 2018 and 2022 Olympic Champion in Big air. Gasser qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics and showed the best result in the qualification round, directly qualifying for the final. In 2017 Gasser won Gold in the Big air event at the Snowboard World Championships in Spain. Gasser also had a successful 2017 X Games performance winning gold in Slopestyle and bronze in Big air in Hafjell, and silver for Big air in Aspen. Career Anna Gasser started to compete in snowboarding in the 2010/2011 season. Before competing in slopestyle, Gasser was part of the Austrian National Gymnastics Team. Eva-Maria Brem
Eva-Maria Brem (born 13 September 1988) is an Austrian former World Cup alpine ski racer, who specialised in giant slalom. Born in Schwaz, Tyrol, Brem resides in nearby Münster and made her World Cup debut at age 17 in December 2005 in a slalom at Lienz. She represented Austria at the 2010 Winter Olympics, and finished in seventh place in the giant slalom. Brem attained her first two World Cup podiums in March 2014 and first victory that November, all in giant slalom. Ed Leigh (born 15 July 1975) is a British sports presenter and commentator. Broadcasting career Ed Leigh is part of the presenting team for the BBC2 show ''Ski Sunday'' and regularly works for Red Bull TV on a host of live events from skateboarding and BMX, through to Enduro and mountain biking. He also worked with Whisper Films as the live anchor for Sail GP’s first two seasons of international coverage,. Probably best known as the BBC’s voice of action and adventure sports at the Olympics. Aimee Nicole E. Fuller (born 21 July 1991) is a British slopestyle snowboarder who represented Great Britain at the 2014 Winter Olympics and the 2018 Winter Olympics. Early life Fuller was born in Farnborough, and grew up in nearby Keston. She moved to Washington D.C., USA, in 2003 aged 12, attending the British School of Washington, but moved back to the UK at the age of 16 to live in Northern Ireland where she attended Sullivan Upper School in Holywood. Snowboarding At The 2014 Winter Olympics – Women's Slopestyle
The women's slopestyle competition of the Sochi 2014 Olympics was held at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park on 6 February (qualification) and 9 February (semi-finals and final). This was the first time that a slopestyle event was included in the Olympic program. Jamie Anderson of the United States became the first Olympic champion. Enni Rukajärvi from Finland took the silver, and Jenny Jones from Great Britain won the bronze medal. Qualification An athlete must have placed in the top 30 in at a World Cup event after July 2012 or at the 2013 World Championships and a minimum of 50 FIS points. A total of 24 quota spots are available to athletes to compete at the games. A maximum of 4 athletes can be entered by a National Olympic Committee. Millstatt am See is a market town of the Spittal an der Drau District in Carinthia, Austria. Big Air
Big air is a high-injury-risk sports discipline where the competitor rides a vehicle, such as a motocross motorcycle, a skateboard, a snowboard, or a pair of skis, down a hill or ramp and performs aerial tricks after launching off very large jumps. In most versions, there is one large jump and therefore only one opportunity to perform a trick. It is an extreme version of slopestyle. Competitors perform complex tricks in the air, aiming to attain sizable height and distance as well, all while making every effort to secure a clean landing. Many competitions also require the rider to do a specific trick to win the major prize. The term was coined by French-Canadians because of their love for the extreme nature of the event.
