Early life and education Former student of Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny, Milfort has a degree in social sciences and mathematics from collège Jean-de-Brébeuf in Montréal during 1991 and 1992. She entered Université de Montréal in 1992, earning a bachelor's degree in economics in 1996. She earned a master's degree from Florida International University in 1997 and a gender and human rights master's degree from Rutgers University, Edward J. Bloustein School of Public Policy and Urban Planning in 2005. Michel Martelly
Michel Joseph Martelly (; born 12 February 1961) is a Haitian musician and politician who was the President of Haiti from May 2011 until February 2016. He was sanctioned by the Canadian Government for his involvement in human rights violations and supporting criminal gangs on 17 November 2022. Martelly was one of Haiti's best-known musicians for over a decade, going by the stage name Sweet Micky. For business and musical reasons, Martelly has moved a number of times between the United States and Haiti. When travelling to the United States, Martelly mostly stays in Florida.
