Ann Stepan
Ann Stepan (September 27, 1943 – April 17, 2015) was an American politician from Illinois. Stepan served the 7th district in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1991 to 1993. She married Paul Stepan, a real estate developer, in 1965, shortly after her graduation from Barat College. John Cullerton
John J. Cullerton (born October 28, 1948) is an American politician who served as a Democratic member of the Illinois Senate, representing the 6th district from his appointment in 1991 to 2020. He served as President of the Illinois Senate from 2009 to 2020. On November 14, 2019 Cullerton announced to the other members of the Senate Democratic Caucus that he intended to retire in January 2020. Cullerton was then replaced by the State Senator for the 39th district, Don Harmon in a closed door vote of the Illinois Senate on January 19, 2020. Cullerton formally resigned from the Senate the next day. Early life Cullerton is a native of Chicago. He received his bachelor's degree in political science from Loyola University of Chicago, where he also earned his J.D. degree. Eugene M. "Gene" Moore (July 19, 1942 – June 14, 2016) was a politician who served both as Cook County recorder of deeds and as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives. Early life Moore was born July 19, 1942 in Baltzer, Mississippi, the son of Sara Ella Burrell and Joseph Moore. When Moore was a young child, his family moved to Maywood, Illinois. Moore would from then on be a lifelong resident of Maywood. Moore attended Maywood's Washington Elementary School. Moore graduated from Proviso East High School. Moore earned a football scholarship to Otero Junior College. However, an injury ended his football career at Otero, and he returned to Maywood. A family member, after Moore's death, would share their belief that Moore had left Otero Junior College mostly due to feeling homesick and desiring to return to his high school sweetheart, who he would eventually marry. Barat College
Barat College of the Sacred Heart was a small Catholic college located in Lake Forest, Illinois, north of Chicago. The college was named after Madeleine Sophie Barat, founder of the Society of the Sacred Heart. Barat College was purchased by DePaul University in 2001, but closed in 2005; the faculty and student body were absorbed by DePaul, and the campus and educational inventory were sold. History Barat College began as an academy for young women in Chicago in 1858 and moved to its Lake Forest location in 1904. In 1918, the state of Illinois chartered Barat as a four-year college.
