Ann Kitchen
Ann Elizabeth Kitchen is the District 5 City Council member for Austin, Texas, and a former member of the Texas House of Representatives. She is affiliated with the Democratic Party. Personal life Kitchen is married to Mark Yznaga, a lobbyist with the City of Austin. Prior to her election to the State Legislature, Kitchen was an attorney, and later managed the health care regulatory group of Price Waterhouse Coopers. Political career Kitchen also served as a policy adviser to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. She began her career in the Texas Attorney General's consumer protection division. Texas House of Representatives Ann Kitchen was elected to the Texas State House of Representatives, District 48, in the election of 2000. She was defeated for reelection in 2002 by Republican Todd Baxter following the 2000 redistricting in Texas. Austin City Council
The Austin City Council is the unicameral legislature of the city of Austin, Texas, United States of America. The mayor is included as a member of the council and presides over all council meetings and ceremonies. The current mayor of Austin is Steve Adler. The duty of the council is to decide the city budget, taxes, and various other ordinances. While the council is officially nonpartisan, all but one current council member are affiliated with the Democratic Party.
