Ann Clemmer
Ann Veasman Clemmer (born August 10, 1958) is an American political scientist and politician from the U.S. state of Arkansas. A Republican, Clemmer is a former member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, having represented District 23 from 2013 to 2015. She was sworn in for her first term in 2009 in House District 29. Clemmer is also credited as being the first woman ever to preside over the Arkansas House in the state's history, during the 2014 special session held in the Old State House; it was the first time the state legislature convened in the building in more than a century. Background State House career In 2008, Clemmer won her first term in the state House in District 29, when she defeated the Democrat Scott Smith, 9,505 (63.3 percent) to 5,518 (36.7 percent). Mississippi County is the easternmost County (United States), county in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census, the population was 40,685. There are two county seats, Blytheville, Arkansas, Blytheville and Osceola, Arkansas, Osceola. The county was formed on November 1, 1833, and named for the Mississippi River which borders the county to the east. The lieutenant governor of Arkansas presides over the Arkansas Senate with a Casting vote, tie-breaking vote, serves as acting governor of Arkansas when the governor is out of state and assumes the governorship in cases of impeachment, removal from office, death or inability to discharge the office's duties. Tim Griffin
John Timothy Griffin (born August 21, 1968) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the 20th lieutenant governor of Arkansas since 2015. A member of the Republican Party, he previously was the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas between 2006 and 2007 and U.S. Representative for from 2011 to 2015. Griffin defeated Democrat John Burkhalter in 2014 and has served under Governor Asa Hutchinson since holding the lieutenant governorship.
