The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AAATA), which brands itself as "TheRide", is the public transit system serving the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti area in Southeast Michigan. In fiscal year 2021 (October 2020 – October 2021), the system had a ridership of 1,725,797 people. Non-managerial and non-administrative workers at the TheRide are union members, organized in Local 171 of the Transport Workers Union of America. Romulus is a city in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 23,989 at the 2010 census. Romulus is a western suburb of Metro Detroit and is also considered part of the Downriver collection of communities. Indian Trails, Inc. is an inter-city bus company based in Owosso, Michigan, with offices in Romulus (in Metro Detroit) and Kalamazoo. History Indian Trails was founded in 1910 in Owosso as the Phillips-Taylor Livery Service, whose main business was transporting cargo to and from Durand Union Station and the surrounding Shiawassee County.
