Anmatjere Community
The Anmatjere Community, or Anmatyere Council, was a former local government area in the Northern Territory of Australia whose seat was located in the town of Ti-Tree, Northern Territory, located approximately north of Alice Springs. The Stuart Highway runs through the centre of Ti Tree. On 1 July 2008, the area covered by the Anmatyere council was merged into the Central Desert Shire, and the Council ceased to exist. Central Australia
Central Australia, also sometimes referred to as the Red Centre, is an inexactly defined region associated with the geographic centre of Australia. In its narrowest sense it describes a region that is limited to the town of Alice Springs and its immediate surrounds including the MacDonnell Ranges. In its broadest use it can include almost any region in inland Australia that has remained relatively undeveloped, and in this sense is synonymous with the term Outback. Centralia is another term associated with the area, most commonly used by locals. Ti-Tree, Northern Territory
Ti-Tree (formerly Tea Tree and Ti Tree) is a town and locality in the Northern Territory of Australia located on the Stuart Highway about south of the territory capital of Darwin and about 193 km north of the municipal seat in Alice Springs. At the , Ti-Tree had a population of 70. It is the closest town to Alice Springs. The area around Ti-Tree has a population of 995 people of whom 191 are non-Aboriginal. The population is distributed between the 11 cattle stations, 6 Aboriginal outstations including Utopia, Ti-Tree township, Barrow Creek community and the agricultural produce farms of Ti-Tree Farm, Central Australian Produce Farm and the Territory Grape Farm. Division Of Lingiari
The Division of Lingiari is an Australian electoral division in the Northern Territory that covers the entirety of the territory outside of the Division of Solomon, which covers Darwin and surrounding areas. The division also includes the Christmas and Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Lingiari includes all of the Northern Territory's remote Indigenous communities, most of whom vote when visited by mobile polling teams during the election campaign. The current MP is Marion Scrymgour, a member of the Australian Labor Party. Scrymgour herself is Indigenous and inherited Tiwi identity from her mother. Central Desert Region
The Central Desert Region is a local government area of the Northern Territory, Australia, administered by the Central Desert Regional Council (formerly Central Desert Shire). The council's main towns are Ti-Tree, Yuendumu, and Lajamanu. The Region covers an area of and had a population of 4,208 in June 2018. Laramba
Laramba is a small town in the Northern Territory of Australia, around west of Alice Springs (2.5 hours by road). Access to the community is via the Napperby Station road. In the 2016 Australian census, Laramba's population numbered 239. It lies within the Central Desert Regional Council LGA. Napperby Station
Napperby Station, also known as Napperby, is a pastoral lease used as a cattle station in the Northern Territory of Australia. History The station was established on Anmatyerre tribal land. The Chisholm family have owned Napperby Station "on and off" since 1948. Non-exclusive Native title in Australia, Native title was granted by the Federal Court of Australia to the Anmatyerr and Arrernte people over Napperby Station in 2013 by consent. Both claims were first filed in 2005 after mining leases were granted in the area. The Central Land Council submitted new applications for native title rights over the whole pastoral lease in 2011.
