''Anjathe'' () is a 2008 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language neo-noir action thriller film written and directed by Mysskin and produced by Nemichand Jhabak, V. Hitesh Jhabak. The film stars Narain (actor), Narain, Prasanna (actor), Prasanna, Ajmal Ameer, and Vijayalakshmi Feroz, Vijayalakshmi. The film opened to rave reviews for its technical expertise, avant-garde filmmaking, and for the performance of actor Prasanna. The film became a "super-hit" at the box office. The composition of frames, selection of shots and its counter meaning in narration made Anjathe a perfect example of Tamil New Wave cinema. The film was remade in Kannada as ''Anjadiru'' (2009). Vijayalakshmi Feroz (née Agathiyan;), is an Indian actress who has predominantly appeared in Tamil language films. As the daughter of film director Agathiyan, Vijayalakshmi made her acting debut as a timid girl in Venkat Prabhu's ''Chennai 600028'' (2007), before portraying another timid character in Mysskin's drama film, ''Anjathe'' (2009). Nemichand Jhabak is an Indian film production and distribution company headed by Nemichand Jhabak and V. Hitesh Jhabak. History Producer Nemichand Jhabak's father owned the negative rights for several Tamil classic films. Subsequently since 2000, the Jhabaks have been involved in a long-running legal battle against the Sun TV Network regarding the over-priced sale of the television rights of the films.
