Anja Petersen
Anja Petersen (''née'' Metzger) is a German operatic soprano and university lecturer. She works as a soloist in opera and concert, and as a member of the RIAS Kammerchor. She has appeared in world premieres in both opera and concert, including the leading female role in Arnulf Herrmann's ''Der Mieter'' at the Oper Frankfurt in 2017. Life and career Born Anja Metzger, she completed her violin and school music studies in Stuttgart and then took her Konzertexamen. A soprano () is a type of classical female singing voice and has the highest vocal range of all voice types. Younghi Pagh-Paan
Younghi Pagh-Paan (born 1945) is a South Korean composer. Life Pagh‑Paan was born in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea. She studied music at the Seoul National University from 1965 to 1971. In 1974 she received a DAAD scholarship to study in Germany and entered the Freiburg Musikhochschule, where she studied composition with Klaus Huber, analysis with Brian Ferneyhough, music theory with Peter Förtig and piano with Edith Picht-Axenfeld. After completing her studies, she took guest professorships at Graz in 1991 and Karlsruhe in 1992–93. In 1994 she became a professor of composition at the University of the Arts Bremen. musica viva is a concert series of contemporary music, founded in Munich in 1945 by Karl Amadeus Hartmann. It has been run by the broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk from 1948. The Residenz (, ''Residence'') in central Munich is the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. The Residenz is the largest city palace in Germany and is today open to visitors for its architecture, room decorations, and displays from the former royal collections. Arnulf Herrmann (born in Heidelberg, 12 December 1968) is a German composer. After studying piano with Gernot Sieber at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich he enrolled at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber, where he studied composition with Wilfried Krätzschmar and piano with Arkadi Zenzipér. In 1995/96 he was a pupil of Gérard Grisey and Emmanuel Nunes at the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP), after which he completed his training with Hartmut Fladt and Jörg Mainka (theory) and with Friedrich Goldmann, Gösta Neuwirth, and Hanspeter Kyburz at the Universität der Künste Berlin. The text, by Antonio Somma, was based on Eugène Scribe's libretto for Daniel Auber's 1833 five act opera, '' Gustave III, ou Le bal masqué''.
