Anisul Haque Chowdhury was a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the former Member of Parliament of Rangpur-7 and Rangpur-2. Career Chowdhury was elected to parliament from Rangpur-7 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate in 1973. He was elected to parliament from Rangpur-2 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate in 1986. He was elected to parliament from Rangpur-2 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate in 1996 by-election. He served as a State Minister. Rangpur-2 is a constituency represented in the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) of Bangladesh since 2014 by Abul Kalam Md. Ahasanul Hoque Chowdhury of the Awami League. Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) is a public medical college located in Rangpur, Bangladesh. The college is founded in 1972 and affiliated with Rajshahi Medical University. History To meet the growing needs of modern medicine the government established a medical college in Dhap, Rangpur (on the property of Pandit family of Rangpur) in 1970 with a 500-bed teaching hospital. The first batch of 50 students were admitted to Rangpur Medical College, affiliated with Rajshahi University, in 1971. Currently, the yearly intake has been increased to more than two hundred.
