AnimeNEXT (AN) is an annual three-day anime convention held at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The convention was previously held at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, and the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, New Jersey. Programming The convention typically offers anime music video (AMV) screenings, cosplay chess, a dance, dealer's room, karaoke, panels, masquerade, video gaming, and video rooms. History The first convention in 2002 was put on with limited staffing and was planned in eight months. In 2008 parts of the convention were held in the parking garage below the Meadowlands Exposition Center. The convention then moved to the Garden State Exhibit Center, although it experienced crowding issues in 2012 with outdoor space used for lines. Berryz Kobo
was a Japanese girl group formed by Up-Front Promotion in 2004 and associated with Hello! Project. The group's members consisted of Hello! Project Kids members Saki Shimizu, Momoko Tsugunaga, Miyabi Natsuyaki, Chinami Tokunaga, Maasa Sudo, Yurina Kumai, and Risako Sugaya; Maiha Ishimura left the group in 2005. Berryz Kobo debuted with their first single in March of the same year. In 2007, Berryz Kobo became the youngest act ever to give a solo concert at Saitama Super Arena. In 2008, the group received the Best Asian Newcomer Award at the Asia Song Festival and a Cable Music Award at the 41st Japan Cable Awards ceremony. David Williams (producer)
David L. Williams, sometimes referred to by his initials, DLW, is an American producer and ADR director (and, occasionally, a voice actor) that has been with ADV Films from the beginning when his living room was used as a production facility for their first show, ''Devil Hunter Yohko''. He left ADV in March 2008 and has since worked at Sentai Filmworks and Seraphim Digital. David regularly makes appearances at anime conventions as a representative of ADV. Tom Wayland
Tom Wayland is an American voice actor, voice director and producer who is the Supervising Director at 3Beep productions, which works on English-language dubs of Japanese anime and other global animations. He previously worked for Central Park Media and 4Kids Entertainment. He founded TripWire Productions, which has produced more than 200 different anime titles and overseen the voice direction of many animation titles. Bill Timoney
Bill Timoney (born March 5, 1958) is an American actor, director, script writer and producer. Career Perhaps the best known of Timoney's roles on television is the character of Alfred Vanderpool on ''All My Children.'' The musical team Boyz II Men drew inspiration from Timoney's Vanderpool, and Nathan Morris, one of its tenors, used the stage name "Alex Vanderpool" in the character's honor early in the team's career. Timoney portrayed Vanderpool - known as "the preppie nerd of Pine Valley" - from 1982 through 1987, returning to the role on a cameo basis from 1998 through 2005. Timoney is also a well-known voice actor, specializing in "dubbing" voices for foreign language live action and animated programs. Peelander-Z
Peelander-Z is a Japanese-American punk rock band formed in 1998 and based in Austin, Texas. They bill themselves as a "Japanese Action Comic Punk band hailing from the Z area of Planet Peelander". While the founding members of Peelander-Z were all born in Japan, they first met and formed their band while living in Buffalo, NY. The original three members of the band were billed as Peelander Yellow, Peelander Red, and Peelander Blue. Later members of the band have adopted the same naming structure, with mostly different colors, although one name, Peelander Green, has been used by two different drummers. They perform on stage and appear in color-coordinated costumes, which they state are not costumes, but their skin. Rob Malda (born May 10, 1976), also known as CmdrTaco, is an American Internet content author, and former editor-in-chief of the website Slashdot. Career Malda is an alumnus of Hope College and Holland Christian High School. In 1997, Malda and Jeff Bates created Slashdot while undergraduates of Hope College. is a Japanese people, Japanese mangaka, manga artist best known for his work on the manga ''Outlaw Star'' from his affiliated Morning Star Studio.
