Afghanistan National Institute Of Music
The Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM) is a school of music in Kabul, Afghanistan. It was founded in 2010 by the Afghan-Australian ethnomusicologist Dr. Ahmad Naser Sarmast, and offers a curriculum combining the tuition of both Afghan and Western music. ANIM is a co-educational institute. Per an agreement between Sarmast and the Afghan Ministry of Education, the school accommodates both exceptionally talented students and underprivileged children. History In 2006, Dr. Ahmad Naser Sarmast, then a Research Fellow at the Monash School of Music and Asia Institute, of Australia's Monash University, returned to Afghanistan to assess the situation after many years of living in exile. Anim Synagogue, a drive away northwest of Arad, was an ancient synagogue in use during the 4th–7th centuries CE. The site is recognized as a National Heritage Site of Israel. It is located in the Yatir Forest, immediately south of the Green Line, in Israel. History The synagogue is located at an ancient site identified with the Anim mentioned in the Bible (). It is also believed to be the site of the large Jewish village of Anaya () during the Roman-Byzantine period. Cecilia Akrisie Anim former president of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) (2015 – 2018), and a clinical nurse specialist in sexual and reproductive health at the Margaret Pyke Centre in London. Early life and education Born in Ghana, Anim attended school there and completed her midwifery training at Komfo Anokye Hospital, Kumasi, Ghana in 1968.
