Anil Shirole
Anil Shirole, alias Padmakar Gulabrao Shirole, (born 13 September 1950), hails from the Shiledar Shirole ( Patil) family. He represented Pune constituency in the 16th Lok Sabha from 2014 to 2019. He was previously a member of Pune's municipal council. He completed his graduation in BA from University of Pune. Career Anil Shirole was first elected to Pune Municipal Corporation as a BJP candidate in 1992. He was re-elected for a second term from 1997 to 2002, having been appointed leader of the BJP party in Pune in 2000. Pune Municipal Corporation
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC, IAST: Puṇe Mahānagarpālikā) is the civic body that governs the inner limits of Pune, India. It is in charge of the civic needs and infrastructure of the metropolis, which is spread over an area of 484.61 sq. km. and has 3.4 million residents. Established on 15 February 1950, the executive power of the PMC is vested in the Municipal Commissioner, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer appointed by the Government of Maharashtra. Members of the 16th Lok Sabha were elected during the 2014 Indian general election. The elections were conducted in 9 phases from 7 April 2014 to 12 May 2014 by the Election Commission of India. The results of the election were declared on 16 May 2014. The Bharatiya Janata Party (of the NDA) achieved an absolute majority with 282 seats out of 543, 166 seats more than in the previous 15th Lok Sabha. Shiledar
Shiledar was a term used for a soldier's position in India's Maratha Empire (1630–1818), particularly during the reign of Shivaji. The word ''shiledar'' means "a soldier who possesses his own sword and horse for taking active part in combat/war". During Shivaji's rule, the Maratha army possessed many shiledars who mainly came from the "96 clans, 5 clans and 7 clans of the Maratha clan system. Due to their prominence they used to play active parts in the war held between Marathas and their enemies.
