Angus Scott-Young (born 23 April 1997) is an Australian rugby union player who plays for the Northampton Saints in Premiership Rugby. He previously has played for in the Super Rugby competition. He also played for Bay of Plenty in New Zealand's National Provincial Championship. His position of choice is loose forward. National Provincial Championship (2006–present)
The National Provincial Championship, often simply called the NPC, is an annual round-robin rugby union competition in men's domestic New Zealand rugby. First played during the 2006 season, it is the second highest level of competition in New Zealand alongside the Ranfurly Shield. It is organised by New Zealand Rugby (NZR) and since 2021, it has been known as the Bunnings NPC after its headline sponsor. A concurrent women's tournament is also held, the Farah Palmer Cup. Following the 2005 season the league was restructured into a two-tier competition. The National Provincial Championship would include professional and semi-professional players, and consist of the top fourteen financial and best performing regional teams. For sponsorship reasons it was rebranded as the Air New Zealand Cup. The remaining teams would form a breakaway amateur competition known as the Heartland Championship. Samuel Joseph Norman Scott-Young (born 7 April 1967) is an Australian former rugby union international. Biography Scott-Young, a native of Townsville, is the son of Queensland state politician Norman Scott-Young. He finished his schooling at Marist College Ashgrove and was a member of an Australian Schools side which finished a northern hemisphere tour undefeated. A backrow forward, he started his first-grade career with Brisbane club Souths, before making his debut for Queensland in 1987. Between 1990 and 1992, Scott-Young was capped seven times for the Wallabies. After starting his career with home Tests against France and the United States, he gained a place on the 1990 tour of New Zealand, where his performance as flanker in a win over the All Blacks in Wellington earned him man of the match honours. Bay of Plenty (often known as the Bay of Plenty Steamers) are a New Zealand professional rugby union team based in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand. The union was originally established in 1911, with the National Provincial Championship established in 1976. They now play in the reformed National Provincial Championship competition.
