Angus Schumacher
Angus Schumacher (born 16 March 1999) is an Australian rules footballer playing for East Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). He previously spent a season with in the Australian Football League (AFL). Originally from Naracoorte, South Australia, Schumacher moved to Strathfieldsaye, Victoria, at the age of 12 and played junior football for the local club. He supported Carlton from a young age after receiving a club guernsey. As a junior, Schumacher played midfield and defensive roles, employing his penetrating kicking skills to rebound from the back half. He played for the Bendigo Pioneers in the TAC Cup from 2016, becoming vice-captain in 2017 and finishing third in the club's best and fairest. Schumacher represented Vic Country in two matches of the 2017 AFL Under 18 Championships and tested at the 2017 AFL Draft Combine, performing particularly well on the goalkicking and field kicking tests. Strathfieldsaye Football Club
The Strathfieldsaye Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Storm'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the Bendigo suburb of Strathfieldsaye, Victoria. The club teams currently compete in the Bendigo Football Netball League. History A predecessor of the current club was founded in 1978 as the "Mandurang-Strathfieldsaye Junior Football Club". This club was formed due to the need to facilitate the increasing population of junior footballers in the Mandurang and Strathfieldsaye district. The club commenced playing in the Bendigo Junior Football League. In 2003 the club became known as the Strathfieldsaye Junior Football Club (Strathfieldsaye JFC). 2017 AFL Under 18 Championships
The 2017 NAB AFL Under 18 Championships was the 22nd edition of the AFL Under 18 Championships. For the previous two decades, the Under-18 Championships had been split into two divisions – with traditional football regions Vic Metro, Vic Country, Western Australia and South Australia in the top tier division one and Queensland, NSW-ACT, Tasmania and the Northern Territory in division two. However, with the growth in the strength of the northern academies, the division two carnival was changed to a five-round competition between the four academy clubs (Brisbane Lions, Gold Coast Suns, Greater Western Sydney Giants, Sydney Swans), Tasmania and the Northern Territory. The AFL believed the developing depth in Queensland and NSW-ACT had made the division two carnival uneven in recent years, with a gap growing between those states and Tasmania and the NT. The 2019 AFL draft consists of the various periods where the 18 clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL) can trade and recruit players following the completion of the 2019 AFL season. Key dates Mid-season rookie draft The first mid-season draft since 1993 was held after Round 10 of the 2019 AFL season on 27 May. The draft was only open to clubs with inactive players on their list and vacancies available, such as long term injuries or retirements.
