It was originally released in 1984, and in 2005 was the fourteenth Schulze album reissued by Revisited Records. It is the soundtrack for the 1983 Austrian film of the same name. A soundtrack album is any album that incorporates music directly recorded from the soundtrack of a particular feature film or television show. The first such album to be commercially released was Walt Disney's ''Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'', the soundtrack to the film of the same name, in 1938. Klaus Schulze (4 August 1947 – 26 April 2022) was a German electronic music pioneer, composer and musician. He also used the alias Richard Wahnfried and was a member of the Krautrock bands Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra Tempel, and The Cosmic Jokers before launching a solo career consisting of more than 60 albums released across six decades. Early life Schulze was born in Berlin in 1947. His father was a writer and his mother a ballet dancer. After graduating from high school, he delivered telegrams and studied German at the Technical University of Berlin. He and his wife Elfie had two sons, Maximilian and Richard. Career 1970s In 1969, Schulze was the drummer of one of the early incarnations of Tangerine Dream - one of the most famous bands that got the nickname "Krautrock" in English speaking countries (others included Kraftwerk and Popul Vuh) - for their debut album ''Electronic Meditation''. The two bonus tracks on the reissue were both previously released on Schulze's 25-disc CD box set ''Jubilee Edition'' (1997), which was later included on the 50-disc CD box set ''The Ultimate Edition ''The Ultimate Edition'' is a limited edition 50-disc CD box set released by Klaus Schulze in 2000 collecting his previous limited edition multi-disc box sets ''Silver Edition'' (1993, 10 discs), ''Historic Edition'' (1995, 10 discs), and ''Jubile ...'' ''Angst'' (English: "Fear") is a 1983 Austrian horror film directed by Gerald Kargl, who co-wrote the screenplay with cinematographer and editor Zbigniew Rybczyński. It follows a psychopath recently released from prison and is loosely based on real-life mass murderer Werner Kniesek. Though relatively obscure, the film was acclaimed for its camera work, score, and Erwin Leder's performance. It was banned all over Europe for extreme violence in 1983. Plot An unnamed serial killer is eager to kill again following his release from prison, driven by a desire to see the fear in the eyes of his victims. He stops by a diner, where he is tempted to attack two girls sitting at the counter but is unable to act on this inclination in public. In a taxi afterwards, he prepares to kill the female driver but is forced to flee when the driver becomes suspicious and stops the car. ''Manhunter'' is a 1986 American thriller film directed and written by Michael Mann. Based on the 1981 novel, '' Red Dragon'', by Thomas Harris, it stars William Petersen as FBI profiler Will Graham. Also featured are Tom Noonan as serial killer Francis Dollarhyde, Dennis Farina as Graham's FBI superior Jack Crawford, and Brian Cox as incarcerated killer Hannibal Lecktor. The film focuses on Graham coming out of retirement to lend his talents to an investigation on Dollarhyde, a killer known as the Tooth Fairy. In doing so, he must confront the demons of his past and meet with Lecktor, who nearly killed Graham.
