The Bishop of Willochra is the diocesan bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Willochra, Australia. On 29 October 2022, the diocese elected Jeremy James, formerly assistant bishop in the Anglican Diocese of Perth, as its next bishop, replacing John Stead who had retired on 2 July 2022. Bishop Jeremy James was installed on 25 February 2023. The Diocese of North Queensland is a diocese of the Anglican Church of Australia, founded in 1879. It is situated in the northern part of the state of Queensland, Australia. John Stead (bishop)
John Stead (born 11 March 1956) is an Australian-English Anglican bishop who served as the Bishop of Willochra from 30 June 2012 to 2 July 2022. Career English born, he grew up in Canberra, attending Deakin High School. He received a Bachelor of Education from the University of Canberra in 1979 and worked as a school teacher. In 1996 he was awarded a Bachelor's degree in Theology from the Sydney College of Divinity and was made a deacon in 1995 and a priest the following year. He was awarded a Master of Ministry from the School of Theology at Charles Sturt University in 2022 with a focus on Pastoral (Professional) Supervision. Stead served as a priest in the Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn and was collated as an Archdeacon and installed as Rector of the Parish of St John's Wagga Wagga in 2004. Garry Weatherill
Garry John Weatherill (born 3 October 1956) is the current Anglican Bishop of Ballarat in the Province of Victoria, Australia. He was previously the sixth Bishop of Willochra (2000–2011). Weatherill was educated at the University of Adelaide and Flinders University. He worked as a teacher for several years before entering St Barnabas Theological College in 1983. He was Ordained in 1987, and began his ordained ministry as a curate at St Jude's Church, Brighton, South Australia, after which he was an assistant at St Peter's Cathedral, Adelaide until 1990. He was then Rector of Semaphore which later incorporated the Parish of Port Adelaide. He was then a ministry development officer in the Diocese of Willochra, resident in Crystal Brook. He had been in the role of Archdeacon of Willochra before his election as bishop and subsequent ordination to the episcopate in 2000. David McCall (bishop)
William David Hair McCall (29 February 1940 - 7 May 2021) was an Australian Anglican bishop. McCall was born into a prominent family. His grandfather was John McCall, Agent-General for Tasmania, and his father, Theodore Bruce McCall, an Anglican bishop. He was educated at Launceston Church Grammar School, Sydney Grammar School. He studied for the priesthood at St Michael's House in Crafers, South Australia and was ordained in 1963. He served curacies at St Alban's Griffith and St Peter's Broken Hill. He was then priest-in-charge of Barellan-Weethalle, Rector of St John's Corowa and (his last post before ordination to the episcopate) the incumbent of St George's, Goodwood. On 1 November 1987, he was consecrated a bishop, and served as Bishop of Willochra until in 2000 he was translated to the Diocese of Bunbury.
