Angelo Mazzoni
Angelo Mazzoni (born 3 April 1961, in Milan) is an Italian épée fencer who competed at six consecutive Olympics between 1980 and 2000, winning gold in 1996 and 2000. Career He was the eighth fencer, and the first Italian fencer, to compete at six Olympics. He was the third Italian, after Piero and Raimondo D'Inzeo, to compete at six Olympics. At the World Championships, he placed third in 1983 and second in 1990. At the European Championships, he came first in 1981 and third in 1983. He was coached by Italian coach Gianni Muzio. In February 2008, he and Muzio were hired by the Fencing Federation of Switzerland to be in charge of coaching the Switzerland men's and women's team for the 2012 London Olympics. In April 2014, Mazzoni decided to leave Switzerland and expressed the desire to return to Italy mainly for family reasons. The Russian Fencing Federation (russian: Федерация Фехтования России (ФФР), translit=Federatsiya Fekhtovaniya Rossii (FFR); french: Fédération d'escrime de la Russie) is the governing body for the sport of fencing in Russia. It was created proper in 1992, but its previous incarnation was affiliated to the Fédération Internationale d'Escrime (FIE) in 1914. Raimondo D'Inzeo
Raimondo D'Inzeo (8 February 1925 – 15 November 2013) was an Italian show jumping rider, an Olympic champion and double world champion. Together with his elder brother Piero D'Inzeo, he was the first athlete to compete in eight consecutive Olympic games, in 1948–1976. At the Rome Olympics in 1960 Raimondo won the gold medal and Piero won the silver in show jumping. Being an officer in the Carabinieri Cavalry Regiment D'Inzeo always wore a uniform when competing in tournaments. Against the irritable and aggressive temperament of Raimondo, Piero was more technical and calculating. Piero D'Inzeo
Colonel Piero D'Inzeo (4 March 1923 – 13 February 2014) was an Italian show jumping rider, winner of six medals at the Olympic Games, and an officer in the Italian cavalry. He was born in Rome. Biography With his younger brother Raimondo D'Inzeo, also an officer in the military (but of the Carabinieri), in the international arena they have been called the "invincible brothers" of Italian equestrianism. They participated in numerous competitions in Italy and abroad. At the Olympic Games in 1960 in Rome, Raimondo won the gold medal and Piero the silver medal in the Grand Prix jump obstacles. They were the first athletes to compete in eight Olympic games, consistently from 1948-1976. Piero won 2 silver and 4 bronze Olympic medals. He also won the European Championship title in 1959. He died in February 2014, at the age of 90.
