Angelo J. Arculeo
Angelo J. Arculeo (18 February 1924 – 9 March 2013) was an Italian American accountant, lawyer, and Republican Party politician from New York City who represented parts of southern Brooklyn in the New York City Council from 1962 to 1982. He served as Minority Leader of that body twice, from 1962 to 1970, and from 1973 to 1982. During the period between his two terms as Minority Leader, he continued to serve as Republican Party Leader. A 1954 graduate of St. John's University School of Law, Arculeo is interred at St. John Cemetery, Queens, New York St. John Cemetery is an official Roman Catholic burial ground located in Middle Village in Queens, a borough of New York City. Sal F. Albanese (born August 29, 1949) is a politician from New York City. He served as a New York City Council member, and ran unsuccessfully for several other public offices including New York State Assembly, United States Congress, and Mayor of New York City. Personal and professional life Albanese was born in Mammola, Calabria, Italy. He came to New York City when he was eight years old and attended Our Lady of Peace Grammar School and John Jay High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Education from York College, City University of New York in 1972.
