Angelique Westerhof
Angelique Westerhof (born 1969, Vorden, the Netherlands) is the director of the Dutch Fashion Foundation and co-founder of the fashion master course at the Fashion Institute Arnhem. Career In 1998 Westerhof was asked by the Arnhem Academy of Art and Design (ArtEZ) to establish a one-year fashion masters course at the Fashion Institute Arnhem (FIA), together with fashion illustrator Pieter 't Hoen. Westerhof and 't Hoen were both established in the international fashion industry, and worked to establish contacts between young designers and the international fashion scene. FIA ran workshops in several countries with leading professionals and a graduation show in Paris. Vorden
Vorden is a former municipality and a town in the eastern Netherlands, about 10 kilometres south-east of Zutphen. On 1 January 2005 the municipality merged with Hummelo en Keppel, Steenderen, Hengelo en Zelhem, to form the new municipality Bronckhorst. Vorden is intersected by the road from Zutphen to Ruurlo (N319) and by the Baak creek (locally called Vorden Creek), which flows to the IJssel. Vorden is located on the Zutphen - Winterswijk railway line, which was opened in 1878 and has a central station on the station road. Dutch Fashion Foundation
The Dutch Fashion Foundation is a non-profit Dutch fashion incubator for upcoming Dutch fashion designers. It focuses on strengthening the social, economic and cultural role of Dutch fashion on a national and international level. History The Dutch Fashion Foundation originated out of a growing request for growth and development of a Dutch fashion climate. In 2000 Angelique Westerhof, co-founder and director of the fashion master course Fashion Institute Arnhem, observed that fashion designers who had graduated from the Fashion Institute Arnhem had difficulties presenting their collection to a wider audience, set up their own fashion labels and find a connection with the fashion industry on their own. Arnhem Academy Of Art And Design
Arnhem ( or ; german: Arnheim; South Guelderish: ''Èrnem'') is a city and municipality situated in the eastern part of the Netherlands about 55 km south east of Utrecht. Pieter 't Hoen (illustrator)
Pieter 't Hoen (baptized 18 October 1744 in Utrecht – 9 January 1828 in Amersfoort) was a Dutch journalist, poet, and politician who played an important role during the Patriottentijd as the editor of De Post van den Neder-Rhijn. Personal life 't Hoen was the son of the Utrecht grocer and cheese merchant Reinier 't Hoen, and Johanna Masman. He started his studies at the elite ''Hiëronymusschool'' (a Latin school in Utrecht) in 1755, but was so unruly that his father had him put in a borstal, called ''De Vurige Kolom'' (The Fiery Column) for a year on 29 December 1761, but he was allowed to leave after less than a year in November 1762. Soon hereafter, in April 1763, he married the then 17-year-old Annemietje Nihof, daughter of a Leiden textile merchant. They would remain married for almost 63 years, and have four sons and four daughters between 1764 and 1781.
