Dame Angela Pedder Order of the British Empire, DBE is a British health care administrator and NHS manager. Pedder started her career in the NHS as a management trainee in 1975. In 1987 she was appointed Unit General Manager of Community Services in North Hertfordshire and in 1991 Chief Executive of St Alban's & Hemel Hempstead NHS Trust. She was Chief Executive of Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust for 19 years and the leader of the Devon Sustainability and transformation plan until 2017. In 2014/15 she earned between £180,000 and £185,000. In 2014, she used Twitter to criticise her trust when it sent a letter to a patient of whose death it had been notified who did not attend an appointment, and was criticised by the Patients Association. Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. It was established on 4 June 1917 by King George V and comprises five classes across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a knight if male or dame if female. There is also the related British Empire Medal, whose recipients are affiliated with, but not members of, the order. Royal Devon And Exeter NHS Foundation Trust
The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust ran Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Honeylands Children's Centre (for specialist assessment and support for children with special needs and their families), the Exeter Mobility Centre (providing orthotics, prosthetics, wheelchairs and special seating), and the Mardon Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre. In England, a sustainability and transformation plan (STP) is a non-statutory requirement which promotes integrated provision of healthcare, including purchasing and commissioning, within each geographical area of the National Health Service. The plans were introduced in 2016 but by 2018 had been overtaken by progress towards integrated care systems. The Patients Association is an independent charity operating in the UK that aims to improve patients' experience of healthcare. Established in 1963, it became a registered charity in 1991.
