Angela Betzien
Angela Betzien (born 1978) is an Australian playwright and screenwriter. Betzien was born in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australian in 1978. She graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a Master of Arts for her thesis, "Hoods: Creating political theatre for young audiences". Career Theatre Her first play, ''Dog Wins Lotto'', was produced by the Queensland Theatre Company in 1997. Her second play, ''The Postcard'', won the George Landen Dann Award in 1999. The following year she won a fellowship to the Royal Court Theatre in London as writer-in-residence. She subsequently won a State Library of Victoria creative fellowship (2008), Kit Denton Fellowship (2012), Patrick White Playwrights' Fellowship (2013), Kim Williams' Fellowship Award (2015) and Sidney Myer Creative Fellowship (2017). Rockhampton is a city in the Rockhampton Region of Central Queensland, Australia. Queensland Theatre, formerly the Queensland Theatre Company and Royal Queensland Theatre Company, is a professional theatre company based in Brisbane, Australia. AWGIE Awards
The AWGIE Awards is an annual awards ceremony conducted by the Australian Writers' Guild, for excellence in screen, television, stage and radio writing. The awards began in 1967. The awards are judged by over 50 writers, most of whom are previous award winners themselves. They receive no payment for their role as judges. The judges sign a confidentiality agreement, stating that they will not disclose to anyone that they are members of the judging panel. Leticia Cáceres is an Argentinian-born Australian stage and film director. She is co-founder of RealTV theatre company, based in Melbourne. Early life Cáceres was born in Córdoba, Argentina. Her parents, physicist Carlos Cáceres and computer programmer Maria Cáceres, fled Argentina in 1981 during the Dirty war, seeking refuge in Canada. The family returned to Argentina in 1983 before leaving again in 1989. They initially moved back to Canada, before finally settling in Brisbane, Queensland, in 1991.
