Angel Deradoorian
Angel Deradoorian (born July 18, 1986), also known mononymously as Deradoorian, is a musician based in Los Angeles, California. She is best known for her work with Dirty Projectors as full-time member from 2007 to 2012. She left to pursue a solo career. In 2015 she released a solo studio album, '' The Expanding Flower Planet''. Life and career Born and raised in Orangevale, California and of Armenian descent, Deradoorian first found an interest in music at the age of five, when she was taught violin and piano at the private school she attended. Both her parents are artists and she has an older sister Arlene, who also tours with her performing solo material. At the age of 16 she decided to leave school and pursue a career in music. Dirty Projectors is an American indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2002. The band is the project of singer-songwriter David Longstreth, who has served as the band's sole constant member throughout numerous line-up changes. Ponytail was a 4-piece art rock band formed in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. The group featured vocalist Willy Siegel, guitarists Dustin Wong and Ken Seeno, and drummer Jeremy Hyman. All Tomorrow's Parties was an organisation based in London that promoted music festivals, concerts and records throughout the world for over ten years. It was founded by Barry Hogan in 2001 in preparation for the first All Tomorrow's Parties Festival, the line-up of which was picked by Mogwai and took place at Pontins, Camber Sands, England. Named after the song "All Tomorrow's Parties" by the Velvet Underground, the festival exhibited a tendency towards post-rock, indie rock, avant-garde music, and underground hip hop, along with more traditional rock fare presented in smaller venues than typical stadium performances. Discovery is an American indie electronic recording project of Rostam Batmanglij and Wesley Miles, friends who began recording together in the summer of 2005. History Before Batmanglij and Miles found success in the indie rock scene with Vampire Weekend and Ra Ra Riot, respectively, they recorded as the synth-pop duo Discovery in 2005. Their music drew from the sounds of synth-pop and auto-tuned R&B.
