Ang Tshering Sherpa (entrepreneur)
Ang Tshering Sherpa (2 October 1964 - 27 February 2019) was a Nepali entrepreneur and founder of Yeti Airlines. Career Sherpa started his career in the 1990s at a local trekking agency managed by one of his brothers. In 1993, Sherpa founded Air Dynasty before founding Yeti Airlines in 1998. Sherpa also served as served as chairman of the board for Himalaya Airlines from 2014 until his death in 2019. Death Ang Tshering Sherpa, along with six other people, died in a helicopter crash while returning from Pathibhara Devi Temple, Taplejung, Nepal, on 27 February 2019. Khumbu Pasanglhamu ( ne, खुम्बु पासाङल्हामु गाउँपालिका) is a rural municipality (Gaunpalika) out of 7 rural municipalities located at Solukhumbu district of Province No. 1 of Nepal. Khumjung, Namche & Jubing (1,5,7–9 No. Wards of Jubing) and Chaurikharka were incorporated while creating it. It has the total population of 9,133 according to the 2011 Nepal census and area of . Pathibhara Devi Temple
Pathibhara Devi (in Nepali: पाथिभरा देवी मन्दिर, in Limbu: Mukkumlung) is one of the most significant temples in Nepal, located on the hill of Taplejung. It is also considered one of the holy places for the Nepalese people. Worshippers from different parts of Nepal and India visit the temple during special occasions, as it is believed that a pilgrimage to the temple ensures the fulfillment of the pilgrims' wishes. The temple is located 19.4 North East from Phungling municipality at an elevation of . It serves as a secondary route of Kanchenjunga trek. Taplejung District ( ne, ताप्लेजुङ जिल्ला ) is one of 77 districts of Nepal and one of the 14 districts of Province No. 1. It is remotely located in the Himalayas in Eastern Nepal with Tibet to the north across the Himalayas. Taplejung is the third largest district (by area) of Nepal. 2019 Taplejung Helicopter Crash
On February 27, 2019, Air Dynasty's Eurocopter AS350 B3e carrying six passengers and one pilot was scheduled to travel on a domestic chartered flight from Pathibhara Devi Temple in Taplejung to Chuhandanda in Tehrathum, Nepal. The aircraft crashed at approximately 1.30 p.m. ( NPT) due to bad weather in Taplejung. All seven people on board died in the crash, including Rabindra Prasad Adhikari, Nepal's Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation. Background Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal Rabindra Prasad Adhikari came to Taplejung to inspect the under-construction airport at Chuhandanda.
