Ang Soon Tong
Ang Soon Tong () is a secret society based in Singapore and Malaysia. According to a former police officer, the society was active as early as the 1950s, mainly in the Sembawang area. In 1998, a 19-year-old youth was arrested for setting up a website dedicated to the society. As recently as 2020, Ang Soon Tong is still active, with one of its members sentenced to reformative probation that year for clashing with members of another secret society. The gang gain profits through illegal activities such as smuggling and trading of gun and drugs, illegal moneylending and illegal gambling. Notable members Tan Chor Jin Tan Chor Jin, nick named One-eye dragon, was a member of Ang Soon Tong. He is known for shooting a nightclub owner, Lim Hock Soon, to death with a Beretta Pistol inside Lim's flat at Serangoon, Singapore. Secret societies in Singapore have been largely eradicated as a security issue in the city-state. However many smaller groups remain today which attempt to mimic societies of the past. The membership of these societies is largely adolescent. Despite fading from contemporary Singaporean society, these secret societies hold great relevance to Singapore's modern history. The founding of the city-state in 1819 saw the arrival of thousands of Chinese, thereby transplanting to Singapore social systems already present in China itself. Pulau Indah ("Beautiful Island", formerly known as ''Pulau Lumut'') is an island in Klang District, Selangor, Malaysia with a population of around 20,000 people overall. Malaysia's largest port, West Port, Port Klang, is on the island. There are two bridges linking the island to the mainland: the Pulau Indah Expressway bridge which is an extension of the KESAS after Pandamaran; and the SKVE bridge which links Pulau Indah to Carey Island and to Teluk Panglima Garang. Prior to the completion of the bridges, the only mode of transportation for the island inhabitants was a regular one-hour ferry service to Port Klang Terminal. Katana
A is a Japanese sword characterized by a curved, single-edged blade with a circular or squared guard and long grip to accommodate two hands. Developed later than the ''tachi'', it was used by samurai in feudal Japan and worn with the edge facing upward. Since the Muromachi period, many old ''tachi'' were cut from the root and shortened, and the blade at the root was crushed and converted into ''katana''. Parang (knife)
The parang (; Dusun: ''dangol'') is a type of knife used across the Malay archipelago. It is often mistakenly assumed to be a sword; however, there is no evidence that it has ever been used in a formal military conflict, nor that its intended purpose was to be used as a combat weapon. Although some may argue that it could be called a machete or a chopper as it is a direct variation of the modern machete, its academic status remains as a knife. Design Typical vegetation in South East Asia is more woody than in South America, and the parang is therefore optimized for a stronger chopping action with a heavier blade and a " sweet spot" farther forward of the handle; the blade is also beveled more obtusely to prevent it from binding in the cut. Boon Keng (, ta, பூன் கெங்) is a subzone within the planning area of Kallang, Singapore, as defined by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). The smallest in terms of physical area among the nine subzones that make up Kallang, Boon Keng is bounded by the Pelton Canal in the north; the Kallang–Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) and Sims Way in the east; Sims Avenue in the south; and the Kallang River in the west.
