Anestis Afentoulidis
Anestis Afentoulidis (born 7 December 1941) is a Greek former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward. Career Afentoulidis played at the youth level with Athletic Club Mesopotamia, and with Orestias Kastoria. In 1962, he played in the Association of Football Clubs of Kozani with Kastoria F.C., Aris Kastoria, and assisted in securing promotion to the Beta Ethniki in his debut season. In the 1963–64 season he finished as the league's top goal scorer with 23 goals. In 1965, he played in the Alpha Ethniki with PAOK FC, PAOK Throughout his tenure with PAOK he featured in the 1965–66 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, and the 1967–68 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. In 1970, he returned to his former team under the new name Kastoria F.C., Kastoria. The following season he finished as the Beta Ethnik's top goal scorer for the second time in his career. Mesopotamia ( el, Μεσοποταμία, before 1926: Τσετιράκι - ''Tsetiraki''; Bulgarian and Macedonian: ) is a village and a municiple unit of Kastoria municipality in Kastoria regional unit, Western Macedonia, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Kastoria, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 99.173 km2. Population 4,224 (2011). The municipality was formed at the 1997 Kapodistrias reform under the name ''Aliakmonas'', after the river Aliakmonas. It was renamed to ''Mesopotamia'' in 2006. The village of Mesopotamia was the seat of the municipality. Sights Mesopotamia has three Byzantine style churches. The most recent and largest is that of the cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul. The oldest church is the church of St. Constantine and St. Helen which contains the village cemetery, and the church of Saint Demetrios. 1974 National Soccer League Season
The 1974 National Soccer League season was the fifty-first season under the National Soccer League (NSL) name. The season began in April and concluded in late October with Toronto Croatia defeating Toronto Homer for the NSL Championship. The regular-season title was clinched by the Serbian White Eagles, and as a result, faced the Challenge Trophy champions Calgary Springer Kickers for the Canadian Open Cup and successfully claimed the title. The NSL Cup was won by Toronto Italia after defeating Toronto First Portuguese. The league experienced a further increase in match attendance and contributed an instrumental role in the construction of Lamport Stadium.
