Andy Zhang
Andy Zhang (born 14 December 1997) is a Chinese professional golfer who spent much of his childhood in Beijing, China. He first became interested in golf at age six, and began working with a coach at age seven. At the age of ten, he moved to Bradenton, Florida in the United States to pursue golf. After professional golfer Paul Casey withdrew from the 2012 U.S. Open due to an injury, Zhang, who became an alternate after performing well in sectional qualifying, was put into the field for the Open, one of the four men's major golf championships. He is the youngest player to ever participate in the U.S. Open at the age of 14. On 6 January 2015, Zhang, a Class of 2016 recruit, verbally committed to play college golf for the University of Florida, picking the Gators over Oklahoma State, Texas and Florida State, among others. The Open Championship
The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world, and one of the most prestigious. Founded in 1860, it was originally held annually at Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland. Later the venue rotated between a select group of coastal links golf courses in the United Kingdom. The 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup was a team golf competition held from 6–8 July 2018 at Evian Resort Golf Club, Évian-les-Bains, France. It was the 22nd time the event had been contested and the first under a new format in which women golfers played in addition to men and an international team, representing the rest of the world, replaced the European team. The United States won the match 38½–21½. Format The contest was played over three days. On Friday, there were 12 mixed four-ball matches. On Saturday there were 12 mixed foursomes matches in the morning and 12 fourball matches in the afternoon, six all-women matches and six all-men matches. 24 singles matches were played on Sunday. Arnold Palmer Cup
The Arnold Palmer Cup is an annual team golf competition for college/university golfers. From 2018 it has been contested between a United States team and an International team representing the rest of the world. The teams consist of 12 men and 12 women. The teams are selected on the basis of nationality, not according to the location of the players' universities. The 2023 event will be held from June 10 to 12 at Laurel Valley Golf Club, near Ligonier, Pennsylvania. History From its foundation in 1997 until 2017 the event was only contested by men.
