Andy Spano
Andrew J. Spano (born April 17, 1936) is an American politician who served as Westchester County Executive from 1998 to 2009. Spano was defeated by challenger Rob Astorino in the November 2009 election. He was elected County Executive in 1997, and reelected in 2001 and 2005. Prior to his election as County Executive, Andrew Spano was Westchester County Clerk from 1982 to 1994. He currently serves on the Westchester Community College Board of Trustees where is the chair the Shared Governance Committee. He also served on the board of County Executives of America, an organization representing the interests of counties nationwide. The New York State Board of Elections is a bipartisan agency of the New York state government within the New York State Executive Department responsible for enforcement and administration of election-related laws. It also regulates campaign finance disclosure and limitations through its "fair campaign code". Westchester Community College (WCC) is a public community college in Valhalla, New York, in Westchester County. It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system. History New York Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences becomes Westchester Community College New York state opened five coed technical institutes in 1946, one each in the communities of Buffalo, Binghamton, Utica, New York, and White Plains. The five institutes were operated and financially supported by the state. The Westchester County location in White Plains was called the New York Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences and was housed in a few rooms of the Battle Hill School. Andrew O'Rourke
Andrew Patrick O'Rourke (October 26, 1933 – January 3, 2013) was a judge and politician from New York State. A Republican, he served as the County Executive of Westchester County, New York from 1982 to 1997. He was the Republican candidate for Governor of New York in 1986. During the course of the campaign, he carried a prop—a cardboard cutout of then-incumbent Democratic Gov. Mario Cuomo, which he used to humorous effect. Nevertheless, Cuomo was re-elected. After stepping down as county executive, O'Rourke was appointed as a judge of the New York Court of Claims. Thereafter he was elected as a justice of the New York State Supreme Court and served concurrently as both a justice of the Court of Claims and a justice of the Supreme Court. Subsequently, O'Rourke was on the bench in the Putnam County Supreme Court.
