Andy Cook (footballer, Born 1969)
Andrew Charles Cook (born 10 August 1969) is an English former professional footballer who played as a left-back and who is now the physiotherapist at National League side Eastleigh. Playing career After playing for Halterworth and Mountbatten school teams, Cook gained representative honours for Eastleigh and Winchester Schools, and Hampshire Schools, before signing as a trainee at Southampton in 1985. He signed full professional terms in July 1987, and made his full first-team debut at home to Manchester United on 15 August that year. Having only played 22 first-team games in all competitions, and scoring one goal, and failing to settle into a regular first-team slot at either left-back or left-midfield, Cook signed for Exeter City (then managed by former Southampton player Alan Ball) in September 1991 for a fee of about £50,000. Andrew Ellis Cook (born 18 October 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for League Two club Bradford City. He started his professional career with Carlisle United in the Football League in 2009, and found himself on the fringes of the first team but instead he spent numerous loan spells with Workington and Barrow where he featured regularly. He departed Carlisle in 2011 to join Barrow having failed to make an appearance in United's first team and in June 2012 he moved again joining Grimsby Town. After establishing himself as a first team regular at Grimsby he moved back west, for his 4th stint with Barrow. He would find his most prolific goal-scoring form yet in these two seasons, scoring 47 goals in 87 league appearances, which earned him a move to fellow National League side Tranmere Rovers. Andrew James Cooke, (born 10 March 1964) is a British public servant and former police officer. Since 1 April 2022, he has served as His Majesty's Chief Inspector of Constabulary and His Majesty's Chief Inspector of Fire & Rescue Services. He had served as a police officer and detective with Merseyside Police and Lancashire Constabulary, rising to become Chief Constable of Merseyside Police from 2016 to 2021. Biography Cooke was born on 10 March 1964 in Liverpool, England. He was educated at St Francis Xavier's College, then a Catholic grammar school in Liverpool. He studied politics at the University of Nottingham, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 1985. In 1985, Cooke joined Merseyside Police as a constable.
