André Hoffmann (footballer)
André Hoffmann (born 28 February 1993) is a German footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder or central defender for and captains Fortuna Düsseldorf. Career Until 2010 he played in the youth system of MSV Duisburg before he was promoted in the summer of 2010. On 3 January 2013, he left MSV Duisburg for Hannover 96. On 20 April 2013, he scored his first goal for Hannover 96 in a 1–6 defeat against FC Bayern Munich. Hoffmann joined Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2017 and helped the club achieve promotion to the Bundesliga during the 2017-18 season after finishing top of the 2. Bundesliga. On 8 July 2022, Düsseldorf head coach Daniel Thioune appointed him as team captain ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. Düsseldorfer Turn- und Sportverein Fortuna 1895 e.V., commonly known as Fortuna Düsseldorf (), is a German football club in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, which competes in the 2. Bundesliga. Founded in 1895, Fortuna entered the league in 1913 and was a fixture in the top flight from the early 1920s up to the creation of the Bundesliga in 1963. 2022–23 will be their third season in a row in the 2. The DFB-Pokal ( is a German knockout football cup competition held annually by the German Football Association (DFB). Sixty-four teams participate in the competition, including all clubs from the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga. It is considered the second-most important club title in German football after the Bundesliga championship. Taking place from August until May, the winner qualifies for the DFL-Supercup and the UEFA Europa League unless the winner already qualifies for the UEFA Champions League in the Bundesliga. The Regionalliga Nord ( en, Regional League North) is the fourth tier of the German football league system in the states of Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen and Hamburg. It is one of five leagues at this level, together with the Regionalliga Bayern, Regionalliga Nordost, Regionalliga Südwest and the Regionalliga West. Until the introduction of the 3.
