Andrzej Tkocz (born 28 September 1951) is a former international Motorcycle speedway, speedway rider from Poland. Speedway career Tkocz won a bronze medal at the Speedway World Team Cup in the 1974 Speedway World Team Cup. He rode in the List of United Kingdom speedway league champions, top tier of British Speedway from 1978 to 1979, riding for Poole Pirates. Rybnik (Polish pronunciation: ; szl, Rybńik) is a city in southern Poland, in the Silesian Voivodeship, around 38 km (24 mi) southwest of Katowice, the region's capital, and around 19 km (11 miles) from the Czech border. Jerzy Szczakiel
Jerzy Szczakiel (28 January 1949 – 1 September 2020) was a Polish speedway rider. He was one of three Polish nationals to have won the Speedway World Championship, the others being 2010 World champion Tomasz Gollob and the 2019 Speedway Grand Prix winner and 2019 World Champion, Bartosz Zmarzlik. Career Jerzy Szczakiel first appeared in a World Final in 1970 at the Olympic Stadium in Wroclaw, Poland where he was a reserve for the Final but did not ride on the day. He rode in the World Final in 1971 at the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden where he failed to score in his five rides. Szczakiel's next (and last) World Final was in 1973 at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów, Poland. Marek Kazimierz Cieślak (born 28 June 1950) is a Polish former speedway rider and current coach. In 2007 he was a manager of Poland national team. Poland won Speedway World Cup and Team U-21 World Championship. After victory in SWC, on 30 July 2007 Polish president Lech Kaczyński honoured him Knight's Cross of Order of Polonia Restituta for prominent contributions for development of Polish speedway sport and for achievement in training work.(plPolish president website - 30 December 2007. Robert Słaboń (born 15 September 1953) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. He earned 11 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Speedway career Słaboń reached the final of the Speedway World Championship in the 1979 Individual Speedway World Championship. He has twice won the bronze medal at the Polish Individual Speedway Championship. He rode in the top tier of British Speedway, riding for Eastbourne Eagles during the 1981 British League season but disappointed scoring a season average of only 2.89. Piotr Pyszny (born 18 August 1953) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. He earned 20 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Career Pyszny came to prominence when he won the bronze medal in the Silver Helmet during the 1973 Polish speedway season. He spent his entire Polish career riding for Rybnik. He represented the Poland national speedway team during the final of the 1979 Speedway World Team Cup. He continued to participate in other World Cups and went on to ride for Poland a total of 20 times.
