Andrzej Krawczyk (historian)
Andrzej Krawczyk (born 11 April 1976, in Płońsk) is a retired Polish discus thrower. His personal best throw is 65.56 metres, achieved in July 2005 in Norrtälje. Career He started out in the shot put and was the bronze medallist at the European Youth Olympic Festival in 1993. He just missed out on a discus medal at the 1994 World Junior Championships in Athletics, placing fourth, but he topped the podium at the 1995 European Athletics Junior Championships the following year. He followed this up with a gold medal at the 1997 European Athletics U23 Championships. He cleared sixty metres for the first time in 1998, setting a season's best mark of 61.96 m in Sopot, but did not manage the feat at the 1998 European Athletics Championships, where he was eliminated in the qualifying round. He made his first senior appearance at world level at the 1999 World Championships in Athletics, but was also knocked out in the first round. European Cup Winter Throwing
The European Throwing Cup (until 2016 European Cup Winter Throwing) is an annual continental athletics competition for athletes specialising in the events of discus, javelin and hammer throwing and the shot put. The winter event, organised every March by the European Athletics Association, is intended as a counterbalance to the fact that indoor track and field meetings cannot host the longer throwing events. It allows athletes who specialise in throwing events to gauge their form for the forthcoming outdoor athletics season. The event was first held in Nice, France, in 2001 as the European Winter Throwing Challenge. It was renamed as a European Cup event in 2005 when it was held in Mersin, Turkey. . |

Piotr Małachowski (Polish pronunciation: ; born 7 June 1983) is a Polish retired discus thrower, two-time silver medalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics. His personal best throw is 71.84 metres, ranks him fifth in all-time longest discus throw distances, achieved on 8 June 2013 at Hengelo, the Netherlands. 2005 World Championships In Athletics
The 10th World Championships in Athletics, under the auspices of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), were held in the Olympic Stadium, Helsinki, Finland (6 August 2005 – 14 August 2005), the site of the first IAAF World Championships in 1983.
