Andriy Bondarenko
Andriy Ihorovych Bondarenko (born 22 June 1978 in Brovary) is a Ukrainian composer and pianist. Early life Bondarenko received his musical education at the Lysenko Special Music school in Kyiv, and at the National Musical Academy of Ukraine. Career Bondarenko won prizes in Rachmaninov (Tambov, Russia, 1996), Horovitz (Kyiv, 1997), Lysenko (Kyiv, 1997) international competitions. He collaborates with the “New music in Ukraine” ensemble. He played at festivals KyivMusicFest, Two Days and Two Nights of New Music. His compositions won prizes in the I&M Kotz composer competition (Kyiv,1994) and the International composer's competition in St. Petersburg (2003). Among his compositions – symphonic poem ''2004'' was devoted to the Orange revolution. Four children's ballets were performed by Releve choreographic ensemble with Master Class corporation's assistance in 2009. Brovary
Brovary ( uk, Бровари, , yi, בראָוואַר, Brovar) is a city in Kyiv Oblast (Region) in northern Ukraine, an eastern suburb of the country's capital, Kyiv. It is the administrative centre of Brovary Raion (district). Brovary hosts the administration of Brovary urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Its population is approximately History Brovary is a historic town, first mentioned in 1630. Its name, translated from Ukrainian, means 'breweries' (and is a loanword from Dutch). The city also houses a railway station. Dmitry Stepanovich Bortniansky ; ; alternative transcriptions of names are ''Dmitri Bortnianskii'', and ''Bortnyansky'', group=n (28 October 1751 – ) was a Russian Imperial composer of Ukrainian Cossack origin. He was a composer, harpsichordist and conductor who served at the court of Catherine the Great. Bortniansky was critical to the musical history of both Ukraine and Russia, with both nations claiming him as their own. Bortniansky, who has been compared to Palestrina, is known today for his liturgical works and prolific contributions to the genre of choral concertos. He was one of the "Golden Three" of his era, alongside Artemy Vedel and Maxim Berezovsky. Bortniansky was so popular in the Russian Empire that his figure was represented in 1862 in the bronze monument of the Millennium of Russia in the Novgorod Kremlin. ''Le faucon'' ( en, The Falcon, Russian: ) is an ''opéra comique'' in three acts by the Ukrainian composer Dmitry Bortniansky with a French language libretto by . It was first performed on 11 October 1786 at the Gatchina Palace in Russia by aristocratic amateur singers. The plot is borrowed from Boccaccio's ''The Decameron'' ( Fifth Day, 9th tale) which also served as the basis for Pierre-Alexandre Monsigny's 1771 comic opera ''Le faucon'' (libretto by Michel-Jean Sedaine) (and later for Gounod's '' La colombe''). Two arias from the opera, "Le beau Tirsis" and "Adieu, Adieu", were published in a 1793 collection of songs by Bortniansky (''Recueil de romances et chansons'', St. Petersburg: Breitkopf). Although rarely performed in its entirety in modern times, ''Le faucon'' was revived as a chamber opera by Boris Pokrovsky at the Moscow Chamber Musical Theatre in 1979.
