Andrij Dobriansky
Andrij Dobriansky ( uk, Андрій Добрянський; September 2, 1930February 1, 2012) was a principal artist with the Metropolitan Opera for 30 years where he sang over 60 roles in over 900 performances. As a displaced person in post-war Germany, he earned a scholarship to study chemistry at Amherst College, but later decided to forgo chemistry and pursued a career in opera. The bass-baritone had the longest career with the Met of any Ukrainian-born artist. Early life Andrij Dobriansky was born in 1930 on the outskirts of Lviv, during the interbellum period of rule by the Second Polish Republic. His father, Agaton Dobriansky, was a Ukrainian officer and veteran of both the Legion of Ukrainian Sich Riflemen and the Ukrainian People's Army, and his mother, Teodora ( née Wynnytsky de Chechil), was a violinist at the Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet. Andrij Parekh
Andrij Parekh (born September 20, 1971) is an American cinematographer and television director. Early life Parekh was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts of Ukrainian and Indian descent. Parekh went to high school in Minnesota at The Blake School and attended Carleton College, where he graduated in 1995 with a degree in sociology/anthropology and a minor in media studies. He went on to study cinematography at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts (MFA, 2001) and the FAMU film school in Prague. While at NYU, he was nominated for the 1998 Eastman Excellence in Cinematography award. Andriy Bachynskyi ( uk, Андрій Бачинський, hu, Bacsinszky András; 11 November 1732 – 19 November 1809) was a Ruthenian Greek Catholic hierarch. He was bishop of the Ruthenian Catholic Eparchy of Mukacheve from 1773 to 1809. Andriy Atanasovich Melnyk ( uk, Андрій Атанасович Ме́льник; 12 December 1890 – 1 November 1964) was a Ukraine, Ukrainian military and political leader. Life Melnyk was born near Drohobych, Galicia (Central Europe), Halychyna, into a peasant family. Between 1912 and 1914 he studied at the Higher School of Agriculture in Vienna.
