Andrew Stewart (American Politician, Died 1872)
Andrew Stewart (June 11, 1791 – July 16, 1872) was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. Andrew Stewart (father of Andrew Stewart) was born near Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Washington College (now Washington & Jefferson College) in Washington, Pennsylvania. He was one of the founders of the Union Literary Society at Washington College. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1815 and commenced practice in Uniontown. He was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1815 to 1818. He was appointed by President James Monroe as the first U.S. District Attorney for the newly created United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania based in Pittsburgh, serving until 1821. Andrew Stewart (born November 20, 1965) is a former American football defensive end who played two seasons with the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Browns in the fourth round of the 1989 NFL Draft. He played college football at Fresno City and Cincinnati. Andrew Stewart FRSE (9 October 1771 – 26 December 1838) was a Scottish physician and minister of the Church of Scotland. Life He was born in Cleughside near Annan, Dumfriesshire on 9 October 1771. He trained in both divinity and medicine. He received his doctorate (MD) from the University of Edinburgh in 1802. In 1805 he became minister of Bolton, East Lothian. In 1811 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. His proposers were James Bonar, John Playfair, and David Brewster. In 1809 he organised the building of a new church at Bolton, the architect being Archibald Elliot of Edinburgh. He was a legitimate son of John Stewart, 1st Earl of Atholl and Eleanor Sinclair, daughter of William Sinclair, Earl of Orkney. His paternal grandmother was Joan Beaufort, former queen-consort of Scotland (to James I).
