Andrew Palmer (politician)
Andrew Palmer (March 28, 1808 – February 11, 1891) was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate. Biography Palmer was born in Binghamton, New York Binghamton () is a city in the U.S. state of New York, and serves as the county seat of Broome County. Surrounded by rolling hills, it lies in the state's Southern Tier region near the Pennsylvania border, in a bowl-shaped valley at the conflue .... He moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1833, where he published '' The Blade''. In 1845, he moved to Janesville, Wisconsin. Palmer was married to Mary Hutchinson Mulford and they had six children. He died on February 11, 1891. Political career Palmer, Son of Sylvanus Palmer and Annatje Gardinier, was a member of the Senate from 1851 to 1852 as a Democrat. Previously, he was an unsuccessful candidate for Mayor of Toledo in 1837. Andrew Palmer (diplomat)
Andrew Eustace Palmer, CMG, CVO (30 September 1937 - 13 November 2019) was a British diplomat, and Her Britannic Majesty's Ambassador to the Holy See 1991-1995. He was educated at Winchester College and the University of Cambridge. He also attended the Royal College of Defence Studies, and Harvard University. He was married to Davina (Barclay) from 1962. Palmer was Ambassador to Cuba 1986-1988, and Private Secretary to TRH The Duke and Duchess of Kent 1988-1990. He retired from the Diplomatic Service, which he joined in 1961, in 1995. He then held a number of positions at the University of Reading, where he was awarded the Degree of Hon D Litt in March 2016. He died on 13 November 2019 at the age of 82. A service of thanksgiving for his life was held in St. Barnabas' Church, Peasemore, Berkshire on 9 December 2019. Andrew Clennel Palmer (26 May 1938 – 21 December 2019) was a British engineer who worked on offshore geotechnical problems of submarine pipeline design and the study of the properties of ice. He spent much of his career as a teacher and academic researcher, at the University of Liverpool, Cambridge University, the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, and the National University of Singapore, punctuated by work in industry, while also serving as an expert witness and as a member of various industrial and academic committees. Andrew Charles Palmer (born 30 June 1963) is an English automotive executive and engineer. He has been described as the 'Godfather of EVs' due to his work launching the Nissan Leaf in 2010 whilst COO at the Japanese company. Palmer is also known for launching Aston Martin's first SUV, the DBX, and first mid-engined sports car, Valkyrie, during his tenure as CEO from 2014 to 2020. Andrew Palmer (born 17 June 1966) is an American technologist, Internet entrepreneur, and investor. Biography Andrew Palmer is CEO and co-founder of the data analytics company Tamr and founder of Koa Labs, a seed fund for first-time entrepreneurs. Previously he was co-founder of database software company Vertica with computer scientist Michael Stonebraker. Vertica was successfully acquired by Hewlett-Packard in March 2011. Earlier in his career he served as Global Head of Software and Data Engineering at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) and as a member of the start-up team and Chief Information and Administrative Officer at Infinity Pharmaceuticals.
