Andrew Moore (1752April 14, 1821) was an American lawyer and politician from Lexington, Virginia. Moore studied law under George Wythe and was admitted to the bar in 1774. He rose to the rank of captain in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, seeing action at Saratoga. After the war he was eventually commissioned a major general in the Virginia militia in 1803. He was a delegate to the Virginia convention that ratified the United States Constitution in 1788. He was a member of the Virginia legislature from 1791 to 1789 and from 1799 to 1800. Andrew Cecil "Scrappy" Moore Jr. (September 25, 1902 – May 31, 1971) was an American football player and coach and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at the University of Chattanooga, now the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, from 1931 to 1967, compiling a record of 170–148–14. He had the longest tenure and the most successful record of any coach at Chattanooga. Moore played football as a quarterback at the University of Georgia. Moore's nickname "Scrappy" is currently used as the name of the mascot of UTC. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 1980. Andrew Roy Moore (born 14 November 1965) is an English former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Moore made 65 appearances in the Football League for Grimsby Town between 1983 and 1987, and also played Conference football for Lincoln City. Career Shamrock Rovers Moore signed for Shamrock Rovers in August 1988 and made his League of Ireland debut on the opening day of the 1988–89 season in a 1–0 loss to Athlone Town at Dalymount Park. He scored his first goal on 16 October in a 3–2 home win over Limerick. In a home game against Cork City on 11 November, Moore scored with a header for Rovers to lead 2–1 but then in injury time he caught the ball from a corner thinking the referee had blown the full-time whistle. Andrew George Moore (born June 2, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is currently a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Seattle Mariners.
