Threshold are an English progressive metal band formed in Surrey in the late 1980s. History 1988–1992 Threshold began their career in 1988, initially playing covers of metal groups like Ratt and Testament (band), Testament. As they continued playing together, they began to write their own songs, and eventually stopped playing covers altogether. Early recordings were released locally on cassette under the band name "If Not, Why?". They played their first gig at The Compasses in Egham, Surrey, with Jon Jeary on vocals and Ian Bennett on bass. In 1992, they signed their first record deal, and after adding vocalist Damian Wilson to the group alongside guitarists Karl Groom and Nick Midson, bassist Jon Jeary and drummer Tony Grinham, produced their first commercial recording, "Intervention," which was released on a Dutch progressive rock compilation album. Andrew McDermott (footballer)
Andrew McDermott (1889 – 12 July 1915) was a Scottish professional footballer who played in the Scottish League for Leith Athletic as a goalkeeper. Personal life McDermott worked as a lithographer. After the outbreak of the First World War in August 1914, McDermott enlisted in the Royal Scots. He was serving as an appointed lance corporal when he received facial wounds at Gallipoli on 28 June 1915, from which he died on 12 July 1915. Andy McDermott (born 2 July 1974) is a British thriller (genre), thriller author and former magazine editor, film critic, and journalist. He is best known for his Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase novels. History Andy McDermott was born in Halifax, England on 2 July 1974. He graduated from Keele University in Staffordshire and currently lives in Bournemouth, where he works as a full-time writer. Before becoming an author he was a journalist and editor of magazines such as ''Hotdog Magazine'' and ''DVD Review''; he has also worked as a cartoonist, graphic designer, and videogame reviewer, and has written for the award-winning British sci-fi comic ''2000AD''. Andy McDermott is a retired American soccer midfielder who played professionally in the USL A-League before becoming an actor, writer, and sports entertainment executive. McDermott has also coached at several different levels for more than 25 years. He was Head Coach of the Varsity Boys at Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis. He was Assistant Coach at Northwestern University. At the club level, he was the Director of Coaching at the Solano United Soccer Club in Northern California, coached for thUS Development Academyin Los Angeles and the Chicago Sockers. He earned his National A-Youth Coaching License from US Soccer. In 1994, McDermott graduated from William Fremd High School. He played collegiate soccer at Northwestern University from 1994 to 1997.
