Andrew Marck
Andrew Marck (born 19 November 1989) is a New Zealand Australian Baseball League outfielder and first baseman for the Auckland Tuatara of the Australian Baseball League. Career Marck has won the New Zealand player of the year for 5 consecutive years. He has represented New Zealand Diamondblacks Men's Baseball team in the WBC qualifiers. He has also played for NZ at junior level as well as at the U23 Australian National Championships, where he recorded a 2.00 ERA and .308 batting average. Marck has been named MVP of New Zealand's National Club Championship 3 times and led his teams to 7 national championships. In 2011, while playing for the Carina Redsox in the Greater Brisbane League, Marck was selected on the Brisbane Bandits 22-man roster and made his debut against the Canberra Cavalry on 4 November, pitching two scoreless innings of relief. The Greater Brisbane League or formerly the Greater Brisbane Baseball Board league (GB3) is the largest baseball league in the Australian state of Queensland and covers all teams from Brisbane North, South, West, Metro as well as three Gold Coast teams. These are from age groups Little League (U12) through to seniors. It is run by the governing body of Baseball Queensland. To participate in the Greater Brisbane Major League, clubs must meet certain criteria set by Baseball Queensland. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered.
