Andrew Legg
Andrew Legg is a Tasmanian musician and director of the Southern Gospel Choir, which he runs through the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music. He is the Head of School at the Conservatorium, as well as a contemporary piano & keyboard tutor. He is also Director of Music at St Clements Anglican Church, Kingston. Legg is trained as a classical pianist, composer and teacher but is best known for his work in contemporary music, especially gospel, soul and jazz. Legg has worked with US gospel artists Myron Butler, Kirk Franklin, Horace Boyer, Marvin Weatherford and Xanielle Davis. Southern Gospel Choir
The Southern Gospel Choir is a gospel choir based at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music in Hobart, Tasmania, and is directed by Dr. Andrew Legg. The choir and its band, the Very Righteous Gospel Band were formed by Dr. Legg in 2000, soon after he became a staff member at the Conservatorium. The Southern Gospel Choir and Legg have received acclaim internationally with leading gospel artists in the USA. Soul music is a popular music genre that originated in the African American community throughout the United States in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It has its roots in African-American gospel music and rhythm and blues. Myron Butler
Myron Demond Butler (born July 27, 1974) is a gospel musician, record producer, singer-songwriter, music director, vocalist, organist and pianist. Most notably, he is known as the leader of the gospel choir, Myron Butler & Levi. Since 1997, he's worked as a vocal director and backup singer for several notable artists to include Kirk Franklin, Marvin Sapp, Smokie Norful, Donald Lawrence, and Yolanda Adams. Kirk Dewayne Franklin (born January 26, 1970) is an American songwriter, choir director, gospel singer, and rapper. He is best known for leading urban contemporary gospel ensembles such as The Family, God's Property, and One Nation Crew (1NC) among many others. He has won numerous awards, including 16 Grammy Awards. ''Variety'' dubbed Franklin as a "Reigning King of Urban Gospel", and is one of the inaugural inductees into the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame.
