Andrew Haben
Andrew Haben (December 23, 1834January 18, 1908) was a German American immigrant, businessman, Democratic politician, and Wisconsin pioneer. He was the 19th and 24th mayor of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and represented Winnebago County in the Wisconsin State Senate and Assembly. He was also an unsuccessful candidate for U.S. Congress. Biography Born in the Rhine Province, in the Kingdom of Prussia, Haben emigrated with his parents to the United States in 1837 and settled in Dansville, New York. In 1855, Haben moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and worked as a merchant tailor. He also became active in the real estate trade in Oshkosh. Haben became active with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, and was elected mayor of Oshkosh in 1876 and 1877. Wisconsin's 19th State Senate District
The 19th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in east-central Wisconsin, the district comprises northern Winnebago County and southwest Outagamie County. It includes most of the city of Appleton, as well as the cities of Menasha and Neenah, roughly constituting the western half of the "Fox Cities". John Ringle
John Ringle (October 2, 1848March 15, 1923) was an American businessman and politician who served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and Wisconsin Senate. Biography Ringle was born on October 2, 1848, in Herman, Dodge County, Wisconsin. His father, Bartholomew Ringle, had served in the Wisconsin legislature; and his son, Oscar Ringle, would later do so. Career Ringle served in the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1879 and from 1894 to 1898. He also served in the Wisconsin Senate from 1882 to 1886. From 1873 to 1878, he was Clerk of Marathon County, Wisconsin. Ringle served as mayor of Wausau in 1884 and 1912. He also served on the Wausau Common Council and the Marathon County, Wisconsin Board of Supervisors. President Grover Cleveland appointed Ringle postmaster of Wausau.
