Andrew Dearman
Andrew Dearman is a South Australian photographer and arts educator, known for his work with vintage cameras and vintage photographic methods such as tintypes and ambrotypes. He frequently conducts workshops and demonstrations into historical photographic techniques. Biography Dearman is an Adelaide-based photographer and his 2008 doctoral thesis is titled ''Art Practice and Governmentality: The Role Modelling Effects of Contemporary Art Practice and its Institutions'' from the University of South Australia. Dearman also conducts academic research into analogue photography and contemporary art, which he sees as forming part of his art practice. Photography is the art, application, and practice of creating durable images by recording light, either electronically by means of an image sensor, or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film.
