Andrew Davies (darts Player)
Andrew Robert Davies (born 19 May 1983) is a Welsh former darts player who played in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). He currently works for the PDC as a scoring official. Career Davies played in the 2003 UK Open, losing in the last 64 stage to Henry O'Neill. Davies then qualified for the 2003 Las Vegas Desert Classic, narrowly losing both group games to Wayne Mardle and Roland Scholten. Davies reached the 64 stage of the 2005 UK Open, winning two matches before losing 8–0 to Mark Holden. Since then though, Davies has not been able to qualify for a major event, his last big event came in the 2007 US Open, reaching the third round before losing to Scholten. Davies announced his retirement from professional darts in May 2009. Since 2010 Andrew has returned to the circuit as a scorer, he can be identified by his signature shake of the hand and nod of the head as he greets the competitors. Kenneth Clark Loggins (born January 7, 1948) is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) is a professional darts organisation in the United Kingdom, established in 1992 when a group of leading players split from the British Darts Organisation (BDO) to form what was initially called the World Darts Council (WDC). The Cazoo UK Open is a ranking major darts tournament held annually at the Butlins Minehead Resort by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) in England. Often referred to as the "FA Cup of darts", the UK Open replicates the abolition of seedings, elimination play, and fixtures determined via open draw. One-hundred-and-sixty players compete in the multi-board event over eight-stages before the PDC’s Top 32 enter the tournament in the fourth round. Las Vegas Desert Classic
The Las Vegas Desert Classic was a darts tournament, organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and was held each year in July from 2002 until 2009. Its original venue was the MGM Grand Casino and Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada from 2002 to 2005, but the tournament moved down the strip to the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino from 2006 to 2009. The tournament carried a total prize purse of £126,400 (approx US$250,000). Due to the time difference between the UK and US, the matches were played in the morning local time – which is prime-time evening in the UK where the tournament was broadcast live on Sky Sports. Wayne Elliot Mardle (born 10 May 1973) is an English former professional darts player who played in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and British Darts Organisation (BDO). He was runner-up in three PDC majors, losing to Phil Taylor on each occasion. He was also a five-time world semi-finalist. He currently works as a pundit and commentator. He has been known as "Hawaii 501" since 2000, a play on the title of the popular television series ''Hawaii Five-O'', due to the Hawaiian shirts he started wearing in 1998 for a bet, and 501 being the start score of a leg of darts. Roland Scholten (born 11 January 1965) is a Dutch former professional darts player who played in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and British Darts Organisation (BDO). Nicknamed The Tripod and The Flying Dutchman, Scholten turned full-time professional in 2001 having previously worked as a publican. Despite his Dutch nationality, Scholten speaks with a strong English accent having lived in Peterborough for several years.
